How to track ICICI Bank spending from your SMS alerts
ICICI's alerts are clear once you know how they're worded, and confusing until then. Here's how to read them, what iMobile already shows you, and how to see ICICI next to your other banks.

The short answer
ICICI Bank texts you for UPI payments and card spends with the amount, merchant and account or card ending. iMobile's Discover feature reviews income and expenses for ICICI accounts. To see ICICI next to your other banks and UPI apps, use a tracker that reads ICICI's texts on your phone and logs each spend automatically.

When "credited" in an ICICI text means you spent money
Here's how an ICICI UPI payment reads (numbers changed):
“ICICI Bank Acct XX567 debited for Rs 1,250.00 on 25-Sep-26; Zomato credited. UPI:624567891234.”
The text says credited, and you spent ₹1,250. "Zomato credited" means Zomato's account received the money; your account was debited. A tracker that spots "credited" and logs income gets this backwards. PennyWise AI reads whose account each word is about: your account debited, the merchant credited, so it's a ₹1,250 spend at Zomato.
ICICI alerts and what gets logged
| The text says | What it is | Logged as |
|---|---|---|
| ICICI Bank Acct XX567 debited for Rs 1,250.00 ...; Zomato credited. UPI:624567891234 | UPI payment | ₹1,250 spend at Zomato, UPI |
| INR 2,450.00 spent using ICICI Bank Card XX8899 on 01-Oct-26 on BIGBASKET. Avl Limit: INR 1,20,000.00 | Credit card purchase | ₹2,450 spend at BigBasket, credit card 8899 |
| Payment received towards your ICICI Bank Credit Card | Card bill paid | Skipped: the purchases already counted |
| OTP for a transaction | OTP | Skipped |
The "Avl Limit" in a card alert is your remaining credit, not money you have. It isn't logged as a balance.
What iMobile shows, and what it doesn't
iMobile's listing says to "use the Discover feature on iMobile to review your income and expenses". For ICICI accounts and cards, that's a useful monthly check, and it costs nothing.
Like every bank's app, it sees its own bank. A salary in ICICI, a credit card from HDFC and a second UPI app on another account means three places to look. The texts on your phone are where all three meet.

Questions people ask
Does ICICI have a spend analyser?
iMobile's Discover feature reviews your income and expenses for ICICI accounts. It doesn't include other banks' accounts or cards, or UPI apps linked to other banks.
Why does my ICICI SMS say 'credited' when I paid?
In a UPI alert such as "Acct XX567 debited for Rs 1,250; Zomato credited", your account was debited and the merchant's account was credited. You spent the money.
How do I track my ICICI credit card spends?
ICICI texts you for each card purchase with the amount, merchant and card ending. A tracker that reads those texts logs each purchase; the card bill payment is left out so nothing counts twice.
Is it safe to let an app read ICICI SMS?
Reading texts lets an app see the alert, not your account. PennyWise AI reads SMS on the phone, saves only the payment, ignores texts from personal numbers, and never asks for your banking password, card PIN or UPI PIN.
